ABOUT THE ARTIST

When Emily was in the fifth grade, her father gave her a box full of glass beads, some string and a crimping tool. Little did he know that this craft kit would do so much more than keep her entertained for a few hours. She became fascinated with the process of designing wearable pieces of art. As she grew, so did her passion for creating, eventually leading her to study metalsmithing and jewelry design at the Maine College of Art and the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Emily now works as a jewelry design and repair specialist and social media manager at a small, woman owned, Jewelry studio & storefront in historic downtown Troy, New York.

She believes that Jewelry is so much more than a visual enhancement, it is an intimate part of a person’s life. From your grandmothers engagement ring to the cheap fake pearl earrings you wore for your high school graduation. These little baubles have a way of attaching themselves to special memories in our minds.

"It is my dream to help create these memory vessels for others. I hope that the things I make not only appeal to my audience visually, but also help them to commemorate special moments in their lives, so they may look on them fondly for years to come."
